Movement offerings at House of the Lorde include dance, burlesque, and drag classes, workshops, and embodied practices that center listening to the body and one another.
Rooted in curiosity rather than perfection, these offerings invite participants to explore creativity, expression, and connection through movement. We welcome a range of bodies, abilities, and experiences, and believe movement belongs to everyone.

Study
with
us
Study at House of the Lorde is collective.
We gather around Black feminist texts, contemporary writing, and cultural criticism to read, reflect, and learn together.
Our reading groups, discussions, and workshops center collective learning, critical inquiry, and community care. We read aloud, listen deeply, ask questions, and make space for multiple ways of knowing. Rooted in Black feminist traditions of study, these offerings invite us to imagine new possibilities for ourselves and each other.

We come together to connect, reflect, celebrate, and care for one another.
These offerings make space for conversation, rest, ritual, creativity, and community. Some gatherings are facilitated by House of the Lorde. Others are guest-led and hosted in the space. All are rooted in intention and a desire to be in meaningful relationship with one another.
