Chicago Drop-In Class Tuesday, March 10 | 6:30 - 7:30 PM House of the Lorde | 2233 S. Throop St, Suite 502 Maximum 15 participants | Minimum 5 participants Po’ography: Striptease Phrases Join Po’Chop for a choreography-based striptease class rooted in over 15 years of creating impactful burlesque acts. In this drop-in session, participants learn a short, slow-burning striptease phrase infused with Po’Chop’s signature blend of storytelling, grounded movement, and the art of tease. Expect intentional pacing, deliberate transitions, and choreography that builds tension rather than rushes it. Whether you are new to burlesque or a seasoned performer, you will leave with a phrase that reflects your unique expression and strengthens your stage presence. This supportive, beginner-friendly class welcomes all identities, skill levels, and abilities. Accommodations and modifications are available to ensure everyone can participate fully. Suede or rubber-bottom heels or shoes encouraged but not required. Masks must be worn. Two scholarship spots per class are reserved for Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and Queer individuals for whom cost is a barrier. Applications can be found at houseofthelorde.com/scholarship. About Po’Chop Jenn Freeman, who also navigates this world as Po’Chop, is an interdisciplinary artist weaving burlesque, drag, storytelling, and movement into worlds that illuminate and interrogate Black queer life. They are the co-founder of House of the Lorde, co-producer of Notes on Masculinity, a beloved drag king cabaret, and the creator of The Black Burlesque Directory. Their work has been supported by United States Artists, Dance/USA, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Urban Bush Women, and Chicago Dancemakers Forum. They have been named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Burlesque Artists by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine. Po’Chop has guided countless dancers, performers, and first-timers in burlesque and embodiment practices across Chicago and beyond.
