6-Week Session | $275 Wednesdays | 6:30 - 9:00 PM August 5 - September 9 Performance Opportunity: Friday, September 25 House of the Lorde 2233 S. Throop St., Suite 502, Chicago, IL Create, refine, and share original performance work in a supportive, process-centered environment. Have an idea you've been carrying around? A concept that won't leave you alone? A piece you've started but haven't had the time or support to fully realize? Solo Performance Lab is a six-week creative intensive designed for performers interested in developing original solo work. Through movement prompts, writing exercises, improvisation, witnessing practices, and group feedback, participants will generate material, refine ideas, and deepen their relationship to their own artistic voice. Whether you're creating your first original act or expanding your existing repertoire, this lab offers dedicated time and support to bring an idea from spark to stage. Expect to: Generate and expand performance material through creative prompts Explore character, theme, and audience relationship Receive thoughtful feedback in a small cohort setting Experiment with structure, pacing, and transitions Develop an original solo performance piece Share your work as part of a culminating House of the Lorde showcase Prerequisites Solo Performance Lab is designed for performers with some experience in burlesque, drag, or live performance. Participants should have completed all four House of the Lorde Intro to Burlesque series or possess comparable performance experience.
