About the event

House of the Lorde is excited to partner with Links Hall to offer a evening of study and healing with The Reading Room & The Dream Chamber Portal on May 19th from 6-9:30 PM.

Join us for our monthly Black feminist study group, The Reading Room. This month we'll read and discuss Audre Lorde's essay "Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power"Photocopies of the text will be provided.

Following The Reading Room will be The Dream Chamber Portal led by Brooklyn based Nia Witherspoon.

The Dream Chamber Portal is a space to explore and deepen our relationship to dreams through the lens of African spiritualities.  We will conversate, meditate, move, and re-set our nervous systems in preparation to enter a sonic journey.  In this sound healing journey, participants will be guided by a tapestry of sounds from Africa + the diaspora, galaxy sonifications, Black feminist sacred text, ambient music, and breathwork to release the "wokeness" and hypervigilance that often plagues us, and drop into our dreaming and visioning practice, guided by our ancestors and higher selves.

*This event will provide the conjuring medicine that we will expand on in our second event, The Quantum Exchange.*
