About the event

The Reading Room is a casual, welcoming, and creative gathering dedicated to studying the works of Black feminist writers and thinkers. Each month, we come together to read and reflect on a powerful piece of literature that challenges, inspires, and transforms.

In honor of Black August, we will be reading excerpts from Assata Shakur's autobiography Assata.

Photocopies of the text will be provided for all attendees.

Masks are required to help ensure a safe, shared space.

All are welcome.
