About the event

Come view Alkebuluan's exhibit of unseen photos from their archives, Jet magazines and art made in response to the images collected.

Tea will be offered and the artist will be present for conversation and questions.

About Alkebuluan Merriweather

Alkebuluan Merriweather is a Chicago-born and raised artist who received their BA in Art History from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2019. Their work explores blackness and collective memory through various mediums such as collage,printed matter,and  analog photography. They are most known for their previous archival project titled The Black Matriarch Archive alongside its reiteration Homagetoblkmadonnas.
